PLIST 3.2 - Race Modification - Combat Settings

 

PLIST 3 offer race specific combat settings. Some races are specialized in fighter combat, others in launching torpedo, third in recharging beams, videlicet each race has distinct advantages or disadvantages in the different aspects of combat (beams, torpedos, fighters, crew kill, and shield defense). PLIST 3 modifications are chosen moderate (+/- 15 %), but can be important in particular situations.

The actual PLIST 3.2 race modifications are listed in detail below. Impact of the modifications can be at seen in simulation tables given at the ONE to ONE Ship Combat ( 11combat.html ).

ROMULAN

+ less torps needed (- 5 %)
- slightly weaker fighter race
- receives faster hull damage due to weak shields

Klingon

+ Beams become more effective due to a fast recharge and hit bonus
+ less torps needed (- 5 %)
- weak fighter race
- hull damage is little increased<

Orion

+ strong shields
+ moves faster in firing range against planets
- weak fighter race
- more torps needed (+ 5 %) but faster tube recharge

Borg

+ early beam strike
+ slightly improved fighter combat abilities
+ less torps needed (- 5 %)
- easier to take over Borg ships in combat
- moves slowly in firing range against planets

Tholian

+ Fighters improved kill rate
+ very robust against crew kill
+ difficult to take over Tholian ships in combat
+ very precise torp launching, less torps needed (- 20 %)
- very slow recharge rate of tubes

EE

+ slowly fighter movement, but increased max. fighter launch. Strengthen warships with fighter bays > 8.
+ less torps needed (- 3 %)

Cylon


+ shoots down more opponent fighters
+ less fighter needed due to higher kill damage
+ hull damage reduced
+ very fast recharge of beams and tubes
+ strong fighter race
- more torps needed (+ 20 %)
- slow beam strike against non-fighter ships
- slow fighter movement
- receives early hull damage due to weak shields
- moves later into firing range against planets
- weak torpedo race

Rebels


+ strong against non-fighter ships and planets
+ strong shields
+ more precise beam hits
+ more strikes per fighter
+ strong fighter race
- fighter strikes reduced kill and damage rate
- weak against fighter ships and planets
- more fighters needed
- weak torpedo race

Colonies

+ shoots down more opponent fighters
+ fast fighter strike
+ strong fighter race
- weak torpedo race, need more torps (+ 15 %)
