Playing with PLIST 3.2

Which client supports the new features of PLIST 3.2?

PCC, PCC II and VPA are clients which support PLIST 3.2 features, like new hullfuncs, level-dependent hullfuncs and race modifications.

ccbships is a shipviewer which can handle PLIST 3.2, ccbsim is recommended as combat simulator.
ccbships and ccbsim can be downloaded at http://phost.de/~stefan/playutil.html.
The latest Echoview beta version also supports most PHost 4.1 hull functions. Echoview is an excellent tool and is recommended as viewer besides the main client.

PLIST 3.2 Hullfuncs

I am playing the Tholian or Orion. One of my ships tried to tow a fuelless opponent ship, however the tow capture wasn't successful although my ship has a Boarding device according to ccships?

Your ship has probably only one engine. For a successful Boarding party the Tow must be successful first.

And why do one engine ships have a Boarding device at all?

We treat Boarding as a racial ability: all Orion / Tholian ships have it, but only those with a Tow option can use it. In addition, some ships can receive Tow ability later on.

How can I cloak my L4 Falcon?

By using the extended mission 30. Therefore, the file mission.ini has to be located in your game directory or alternatively the command processor can be used.

What will happened if I try to cloak a L3 Falcon?

You will produce a Yellow Alert (see http://www.phost.de/phost4doc/glossary.html#datastatus).
Yellow alert means the host identified a wrong (in this case not allowed) mission with the turn file. PHost will ignore the command.

My L4 Falcon became decloaked during hyperjumping?

According to http://www.phost.de/phost4doc/hullfunc.html the rule of Hyperdrive + Cloak/AdvancedCloak is:
Hyperjumping frees large amounts of energy. Therefore, ships which hyperjump must decloak.

My L3 Gallofree towed a one engine ship during hyperjumping. However the tow broke?

According to http://www.phost.de/phost4doc/hullfunc.html:
A ship with a hyperjump device and FC: HYP can't intercept or tow other ships. If it attempts to the missions will be cancelled.

My B'rel reached L3 and receives an AdvancedCloaking. Do my ship has a Cloaking and a AdvancedCloaking device now?

No. Similar to Refinery + AdvancedRefinery (http://www.phost.de/phost4doc/hullfunc.htm) the ship will only have the superior device, in this case AdvanceCloaking. Same rule applies to the upgrades: Bioscan + FullBioscan, GloryDeviceHighDamage + GloryDeviceLowDamage, CloneOnce + Uncloneable, and GiveOnce + Ungiveable.

As FED I was able to trade a L3 D'Deridex. Which advantage I will get from the FullWeaponary?

None, because as FED you already have it. As part of the Fed Combat Bonus, all ships owned by the Federation already have FullWeaponary. Same applies to a ships with a PlanetImmunity to the Klingon and Rebel.

 

PLIST 3.2 Equipment

My ship is equipped with Disruptors. According to the PLIST3.2 docs the Destroy-Power is 0. What does that mean?

Weapons with a Destroy- or Explosive-Power of 0 emit Death Rays, which have a different characteristics. Death Rays kill crew even when the shields of the opponent ship are in a good order. Important: Death Ray do not harm ship hulls or planets including the colonists and natives at all.
In PLIST 3.2 there are 2 types of Death Ray beams (Kill-O-Zaps, Disruptors) and Death Ray torps (Paralyso-Matic Bomb, Photon Bomb) known.

My B'rel is equipped with 3 Selphyr-Fataro-Tubes including 6 tubes and 6 Disruptors. I attacked a defenseless 1 clan planet, however I wasn't able to take it over. What has happened?

The B'rel ran out of torps before planet was beaten. In opposite to a ship a planet has an atmosphere and clans. Death Ray weapons are ineffective. Keep in mind that already low defense planets can cause a total loss of your B'rel equipped only with Death-Rays.
