VGA Planets Map, The Echo Cluster ver 1.0 CREDITS ******* Tim Wisseman..........Author of VGA Planets, Designer of the VGA Planets Map. Ron Marino............Gave me one of his maps and told me how to use it. Disclaimer ---------- Use this Map at your own risk. If your game gets all screwed up from using it I don't care. About the Map ------------- This Map was created using Windows Paintbrush. It is 2100x2100, 2 color bitmap. The map is set up so that 1 pixel = 1 light year. This Map was created because it is easy to update, easily accessible to anybody with a Modem. You will also notice that the map is very accurate. Although I did not have time to go through and check the spelling of the planets. I know that there is probably some major blunders. What to do with it ------------------ You may alter the map in any manner you wish. However you may not upload any altered maps. I know that there may error's in the map but what we don't need is 3000 maps floating around taking up disk space. If you notice an error, or something else that can be improved, leave me a message in the VGA Planets Echo, or the Door Games Echo. You can also send me a letter or postcard if you wish. If you do point out an error or give a good suggestion for how the map can be improved I will include it in the next version. Your name will also be added to the credits list, wow. You may not sell this map, you may however charge a small fee for reproduction, cost of the disk or paper or whatever. This map is FREE to anyone who wants it. How to use it. -------------- Basically print it out, paste the pages together on cardboard or whatever. Place clear plastic over it and write on it with water markers. You should only need a couple of Maps, depending on the number of games you are playing. This map has 400 sectors, the sectors are identified by taking the Major Sector(1-4) then the Minor Sector.X(0-9) then the Minor Sector.Y(0-9) to form a number. This number then identifies the sector. A few examples: 305 Bimbo............. Sector 416 227 New Mars.......... Sector 462 265 Remit............. Sector 333 223 Forbidden Planet.. Sector 171 There are 4 Border Worlds: 131 R Leonis 7........ Sector 404 364 Holloween......... Sector 177 188 Cleandria......... Sector 207 161 Kthistlmup........ Sector 271 The Major Sector is the 4 quadrants of the map, the top left-hand corner is Sector 1, the top right-hand corner is 2, the bottom left-hand corner is 3 and the bottom right-hand corner is 4. The Minor Sectors are the boxes that are 100 light years across and are labeled from 0 to 9 in each Major Sector. The Minor Sector(X) are the horizontal rows, the Minor Sector(Y) are the vertical columns. Printing the Map ---------------- I am currently unaware of programs that can be used to print out this map other than Paintbrush for Windows. If anyone out there finds any other programs which can print this map please tell me, I will include the program name in my list of programs in the next release. I have printed the map out using my old 24 pin Dot Matrix, the map printed out good, I was rather surprised actually. I must admit though that Tim Wisseman's map has much smoother text and larger planets. The map is designed to be printed on six 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of paper in a portrait orientation. The map is about 53cm x 53cm (21"x21") when it is printed out with Windows Paintbrush. Programs the can print out the map: Windows: Paintbrush, Commercial. Dos: OS/2: Please include whether the program is Shareware or Commercial. Other Stuff ----------- Have Fun! My Address: Trevor Fuson 6664 Edelweiss Rd. Prince George, B.C.
